Our architectural, civil and structural engineering teams delivered the multi-temperature logistics centre for DHL on the 15-acre site at Central Park, Avonmouth, Bristol. 

The site’s proximity to the river Avon and brownfield classification lead to our involvement in remediation works and extensive civils design. This included piled foundations, alterations to site drainage via culverts and the installation of underground attenuation tanks. 

The warehousing facilities were designed to incorporate cross-dock facilities within a 2,800 m2 temperature controlled chamber and a 10,950 m2 ambient logistics hall for transient goods. Dock levellers were provided on three sides with a mixture of standard and double deck trailer capabilities. 

Alongside the warehouse facilities, we also designed and delivered the associated two-storey offices, car park and fuel island.
