Project Details

With growing demand in the data sector, we are able showcase our wealth of experience in delivering Data Centres with projects across Europe and the UK. Our blend of Architecture, Engineering and Sustainability gives us unique insight into future proofing these developments for zero carbon industry requirements and ensures that our designs offer flexibility and resilience.

We are responsible for the development of data centre projects in the UK, Germany, and Spain covering Traditional 20MW up to Hyperscale 120MW+ facilities and including up to Tier 3 facilities with n+1 redundancy. These development vary from single or multi-storey buildings for specific data storage or colocation environments. The buildings are so much more than just warehouses for bands of services both with regard to the complexity of the mechanical and electrical systems required to allow them to operate efficiently with at least 99.982% availability to the multi-level security systems required to protect the data stored within them.

The location of data centre sites is critical as they need to have the appropriate infrastructure to support the power demand of the facility together with acceptable latency on to the network to allow for seamless data transfer. Our skill in unlocking difficult, contaminated sites has proven to be pivotal to the success of these types of projects.

These facilities are sophisticated buildings that must be designed with flexibility and scalability in mind. An ecosystem is required to enable scalable, agile infrastructures, implementing modular layouts for the end-user to install various technological iterations and make adaptations in the future. The buildings and site layouts are prepared to allow efficient integration of power and cooling components seamlessly into the fabric of the scheme.

Working with leading international Data Centre Clients, our role includes site master planning, due diligence, and site acquisition advice, leading onto architectural, civil, structural and sustainability conceptual design, tender design and specifications, and client support as projects develop into a peer review, as well as governance and contractor monitoring to completion. To realise these projects, we draw on our European experience in similar highly regulated, power and data integration-led projects in fields of experimental power research.
