At 33,000m2, the Airbus Logistics centre located in the Toledo town of Illescas, Spain, is the further expansion of the local Airbus facilities and the company’s commitment to Spain. We provided architectural and engineering design services for the 33,000m2 logistics hub, as well as construction governance and client advisory services.

This particular logistics centre is equipped with both cold and ambient temperature controlled storage and efficient distribution to the local Airbus assembly facilities. The nature of the storage and logistics required a high degree of construction detailing ensuring a seamless facility operation.

The Airbus Logistics centre is in the central platform Iberum – the most environmentally-friendly and sustainable industrial space in Spain, which contributes to the reduction of the carbon footprint in a significant way, becoming the first Eco Polygon in Europe. To ensure energy-efficiency, various eco-sustainable technologies have been employed, such as LED lighting, thermal insulation, and solar panels to provide energy and heating.

As well as this, the logistics park provides dedicated bike lanes and large outdoor recreative spaces for both employees and the local community.
