THE FUTURE IS GREEN – TWO NEW SUSTAINABILITY CONSULTANTS JOIN THE BE DESIGN FAMILY

We are thrilled to announce two new additions to the BE Design family. With a combined experience of two decades, Andrew Gwynne joins our growing team of sustainability experts as a Principal Sustainability Consultant, along with Daniela Valencia-Arango who joins as Graduate Sustainability Consultant.

Andrew shares our passion for environmentally sensitive architecture and brings with him 15 years’ experience in assessing sustainable buildings. He is a Chartered member of the Institute of Builders and qualified in BREEAM, SAP, Home Quality Mark, Code for Sustainable Homes and as a Retrofit Co-ordinator.

Andrew said: “The ethos and values of BE Design really drew me in, along with the opportunity to work with a range of experts within the construction sector in order to embed sustainable principles into concept design and assist our clients with the journey to Net Zero Carbon.

“It’s an exciting time to be involved in sustainability, with the proposed Future Homes and Future Building Standards recognising the need to improve on current regulations. With many local authorities declaring climate emergencies, comprehensive design consultancy is more important than ever, and I look forward to providing this to BE Design’s clients.”

Daniela studied architecture in Colombia and worked there before completing her masters in sustainable architecture studies at the University of Sheffield. Her experience includes working in urban development for the city of Medellin, Colombia, developing the city as a hub for sustainable mobility, prioritising pedestrians and cyclists.

Daniela said: “I was drawn to BE Design because of its commitment to sustainable architecture. This is one of the biggest challenges facing the construction industry and I look forward to delivering quality work that achieves the highest sustainability standards.

“In my new role I’ll be helping to provide clients with added value through reduced energy usage and increased sales potential while reducing the environmental impact of the construction sector. I’m excited to integrate the use of energy models and simulations in the building design process, improving energy efficiency and guaranteeing compliance with the most current energy and sustainability standards.”

Anna Tsartsari, director, said: “We love welcoming new colleagues to the BE Design family and so it’s great to be joined by not one, but two amazing consultants to expand our sustainability team further. Both Daniela and Andrew bring with them some amazing experience and we’re sure that their skills and knowledge will be a valuable addition to the team.

“As the climate emergency becomes an ever-pressing issue, it’s imperative that we design responsibly. We’re very proud of our holistic sustainable design approach and want our business growth and new hires to reflect our commitment to building for a greener future.”
