THE BE DESIGN FAMILY EXPANDS

We’re thrilled to announce the appointment of our newest senior engineer and new head of finance. Mike Stacey joins our head office in Newark, bringing with him 12 years’ experience in the industry. Emily Foran also joins the team to oversee the practice’s financial reporting.

Having originally worked as a graphic designer following school, Mike was looking for a career that allowed more opportunities for progression, so embarked on training to become an engineer.

Mike said: “I attended Lincoln College and then studied civil engineering at Nottingham Trent University. I’ve spent my whole career in the East Midlands, so I’m thrilled to be continuing my career in the area, specifically at BE Design.

“There is a real focus on professional development at BE Design, which is one of the things that really drew me to the company. The directors – and everyone here – are invested in every single person in the business, ensuring that we continue to grow our skillset.

“The whole team is a real credit to the business. Everyone is driven towards a common goal of providing the best quality service for all of our clients. This results in the best quality developments.

“Outside of BE Design, I enjoy spending time with my four-year-old son. He certainly keeps me busy!”

Mike will be working on a number of projects including Gatwick Airport, Rockingham and Rushden Lakes. His role entails the detailed design of structural elements of buildings and drainage systems.

Director Stephen Oakden added: “We enjoyed a really successful 2019, seeing both our team and portfolio expand in both the UK and Europe. As well as Mike joining our technical team, we are also welcoming a new head of finance: Emily Foran.”

Emily said: “I’m delighted to have joined BE Design, bringing with me 22 years of financial and managerial experience. I will be responsible for financial reporting processing and providing guidance and support on all things finance.

“In my spare time, I love running and regularly compete in races and take part in my local park run.”

As well as her financial role, Emily will be our health and wellness champion within the BE Design family and will head up the organisation of our running club activities.

Stephen added: “2020 is set to be a really exciting year for the industry and BE Design. I’d like to welcome both Mike and Emily to the BE Design family and wish them the best of luck in their new roles.
