Our junior engineers recently visited one of our live projects in Wigan, to gain firsthand experience of the floor slab construction process. Observing how careful sequencing, coordination, and teamwork bring large-scale industrial spaces to life.
The team was given a guided tour of key project milestones, witnessing how careful sequencing, coordination, and teamwork bring expansive industrial spaces to life. A special thanks to TanRo’s site engineer, who generously walked us through the essential stages of floor slab construction—from casting and reinforcement layout to optimal curing practices.
Our engineers also observed the gas membrane installation team as they worked in tandem with the concrete pour crew. This hands-on exposure, watching colleagues lay, weld, and seal the membrane ahead of the next concrete batch – drove home the importance of integrating site activities for quality and safety.
For BE Design, site visits like these are at the heart of our commitment to continuous learning. We’re proud to give our teams opportunities to understand real-world construction methods and challenges, ensuring that our technical skills are robust, practical, and ready to deliver the best outcomes for our clients
