CELEBRATING NATIONAL APPRENTICESHIP WEEK 2019

THIS week marks the 12th National Apprenticeship Week, an annual week-long celebration of apprenticeships and the positive impact they have on individuals, employers and the economy.

At BE Design, we have supported students from the day we set up the business in 2013. As we have grown as a business we have continued to support students both in full time and part time degree courses, together with younger students who prefer the idea of a professional apprenticeship.

Stephen Oakden, director at BE Design said; “Apprenticeships are a fantastic opportunity for businesses like us to support the training of young people in an industry where there is a significant shortfall of available employees. It also enables us to pick out the high fliers at an early stage and nurture them within the BE Design family to be the best they can be.

“We currently have ten students in either full or part-time education who we either sponsor or employ. This brings a youth and vibrancy to our team, full of fresh ideas. This allows us to constantly reassess how and why we do things. Constantly having staff going through educational courses keeps our staff exposed to the most up-to-date teachings, and whether this is new techniques or new design approaches, this can be fed back to the wider team – keeping us all abreast of the latest ways of working.

“With the continuous introduction of new and disruptive technologies, it is important that we employ people who are not simply great designers, but who have a desire to encompass the new technology to enhance the quality and style of the delivery of our design service.”

Throughout National Apprenticeship Week, we are celebrating by shining a light on those members of the BE Design family who joined us on an apprenticeship, or who have embarked on more formal education through the support of the wider team.

We are proud to support all of our staff through extra training and qualifications, allowing everyone in the BE Design family to become the best they can be.
