The proposed Humber Tech Park development will consist of three data centre buildings delivering 384 MW of capacity, becoming one of the largest data centres in Europe. As part of the plans, a large horticultural greenhouse will also be built, powered by waste heat from the data centre. Greystoke Land has stated in its application that the project will provide a significant boost to the local economy during construction and create around 370 long-term jobs in the area.
In line with the high sustainability projects embedded into the project, Humber Tech Park consists of a Comprehensive scheme of landscaping and biodiversity enhancements, including provision of Sustainable Drainage System (SuDS) and waste regeneration.
Our team at BE Design prepared the comprehensive Sustainability and Energy Statement, outlining key strategies to reduce environmental impact, improve energy efficiency, and support the client’s wider sustainability goals. In addition, we carried out the BREEAM Pre-Assessment, ensuring that the proposed development meets industry-recognised standards of best practice in sustainable design, construction, and performance. This combined approach enables us to demonstrate measurable environmental benefits while helping the project align with both regulatory requirements and long-term sustainability ambitions.
